A custom solution was created for online blended learning and tracking for a technical skills program for line mechanics.

This included the content-conversion from a third party intellectual property owner – Tampa Electric Power Pros.  The curriculum (over 176 lessons) was converted to online delivery utilizing our proprietary learning management system (eAccess).  The text material was also supported by audio narration and video to cater to different learning styles.

The LMS included tracking and a custom testing-module to randomize both questions and answers. At the time, this was considered a new and innovative way of training and tracking line mechanics that eventually demonstrated a tremendous decrease in lost time from grading test papers and tracking individual employee training.

The online Line Mechanic training program was successfully deployed and followed up with additional course development for Ethics, Compliance, and Business courses – which were later deployed to all of the company’s 1200 employees. New features were also developed to meet the needs of the training requirements, including tracking CEH credits, management of student certifications, and a discussion board to allow instructor-student communication.

The Scope of Work included:

  • Developing a custom learning management system
  • Development of a comprehensive Line Mechanic technical training program.
  • An administrative tool to track in-field / hands on training progress.

This project was successfully implemented and lead to additional contracts and long standing client relationship.
